Surrey: A 31-year-old male pedestrian, who was struck by a vehicle on July 29, has succumbed to his injuries, Surrey RCMP said in an update on Monday.

The Mounties have been appealing to witnesses in connection with the fatal hit-and-run incident to come forward.

According to Surrey RCMP, officers responded to a report of a pedestrian hit-and-run collision in the 8200 block of 128 Street at approximately 12:38 am on Saturday.

The police, in a statement, said the pedestrian was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.

A Surrey RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation team is working to identify the vehicle and driver who fled the scene.

The vehicle, which was last seen northbound on 128 street, has been described as a blue sedan with front-end damage, the police said.

“Investigators know that there were multiple people on scene, some that may have witnessed the collision or arrived shortly after,” said Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer Corporal Vanessa Munn.

“Police are urging anyone who was there that night or who may have dash camera footage of the collision or suspect vehicle to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.”
