Chandigarh: All India Kisan Congress (AIKC) chairman and Congress MLA from Bholath Sukhpal Singh Khaira accused an Aam Aadmi Party minister of sexual harassment. He also met Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit yesterday and handed over two video clips of the minister.
He has demanded a forensic examination of the video clippings. He said that if these are confirmed in the investigation, then the minister should be arrested and he should be dismissed from the post.
BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa also sought resignation of Kataruchak. In a tweet, he wrote, “Highly obscene video of AAP Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak has been submitted to Governor Punjab. The minister has tendered his resignation & CM Bhagwant Mann would do a Press Conf of the same in morning. AAP Punjab is busy managing its scandals. His Viral video is the #Badlaav.”
Slamming the opposition, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann rejected their allegations and said that opposition are baffled with the development of Punjab and they are running failing to find anything against the Punjab government, therfore, they are levelling frivolous and baseless allegations against the government.
Earlier, Cabinet Minister Lalchand Kataruchak also termed the allegations of Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira as baseless and false. He said that my son has never been my official phone attendant. There is no truth to Khaira’s words.
Minister Kataruchak said that for the last 11 months my official phone attendant is Sandeep Kumar. His father’s name is Shiv Lal. He is a resident of Sharna village of our assembly constituency Bhoa. And my cook’s name is Lekh Ram Sunar. His father’s name is Maun Singh. He is a resident of Dinanagar in Gurdaspur district.
He said that Sukhpal Khaira is making false allegations against me by taking the name of my son with the intention of defaming me. I have never misused my position for the benefit of my family.
He said that Khaira’s main job is to remain in the media by creating sensationalism and take political mileage out of it. I appeal to the people of Punjab not to take his words seriously. Sukhpal Khaira and Congress leaders have a problem with how people from poor families became cabinet ministers and MLAs. These leaders are unable to make peace with it so they’re telling such lies out of spite.
