Chandigarh: Pardeep Singh, a 24-year-old resident of Gazikot village in Gurdaspur district, was allegedly murdered in a fight during the Hola Mohalla festival.

It is being said that the dispute took place after Nihang Singh youth stopped the hooligans from singing obscene songs in the jeep and making a ruckus.

The victim’s family shared the information that Pardeep Singh was living in Canada. He had come to his village a few months ago and was the only son of his parents.

Giving information about this, the family members of the deceased Nihang Pradeep Singh said that Pradeep lived in Canada and he had received his PR recently.

In September, he had returned to his house recently and on March 5, he had gone to see hola-mohalla at Sri Anandpur Sahib and on the way, when he saw some hooligans playing vulgar songs in the vehicle, he tried to convince and stop them.

After the family came to know about the incident, there is a wave of mourning in the entire village. The deceased’s mother, Balwinder Kaur, is in a bad condition. Relatives said Pradeep Singh was the only son of the parents and one of his sisters lives abroad.

The family members have demanded that strict action be taken against these hooligans. The last rites of Pardeep Singh will not be performed till all the accused are caught.
