New Delhi: Going a step ahead in the direction of promoting national language, a new order has now been passed in Haryana. All orders in the lower courts of Haryana will now be passed in Hindi from April 1 next year. Governor Bandaru Dattatreya has now given approval to the Information, Public Relations and Language Department of the Haryana Government in this regard.

The Haryana government on Tuesday took a major decision regarding the use of Hindi language in subordinate courts and tribunals of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Governor Bandaru Dattatreya has given assent to the notification issued by the Haryana Information, Public Relations and Language Department for the use of purposes under sub-section (2) of section 1 of the Haryana Official Language (Amendment) Act, 2020.

The government has taken this decision keeping in mind the convenience of the public. In Haryana, most people use Hindi language, so it is important to promote any work in Hindi.

“The purpose of justice in a democracy is that the plaintiff gets justice immediately in his own language and does not remain merely a mute spectator during the proceedings,” the government said in its statement.

Keeping all this in mind, the Haryana Cabinet had approved a proposal in January. Now all tribunals subordinate to the High Court and constituted by the state government will work in devanagari script of Hindi. This decision of the Haryana government has received a overwhelming response from local residents.
