Chandigarh: Lambasting the former MLAs of Congress and SAD for misusing Vidhan Sabha stickers and its powers, Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday reminded them that people of Punjab have rejected them and they should now stop misusing the government machinery.
Addressing a press conference at party’s headquarters here, state chief spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang bemoaned that 80 former MLAs, including former CM Charanjit Singh Channi and former deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal, have not returned their Vidhan Sabha stickers even after months they suffered humiliating defeat in assembly elections.
He said that Vidhan Sabha has now sent notices to all ex-MLAs to return the ‘MLA stickers’ issued to them during the previous term of the House, which as per law, they should have surrendered themselves after losing the elections. But drunk in the power, they has been misusing the government powers and still continue to do so. However, under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Mann, AAP government will usher a new era of politics and all these things will be stopped and no one will be allowed to misuse government machinery, Kang added.
Giving a befitting reply to SAD leaders for raising questions over Mohalla clinics, Kang said that Mann government is bringing a health revolution in Punjab and they are utilizing the existing buildings and infrastructure, which were in dilapidated conditions during previous governments, to give top-class health facilities to people of Punjab at free of cost.
He said that Congress and SAD-BJP leaders had plundered government funds and misused government powers during their regime but now AAP will not tolerate this at any cost. People of Punjab gave thumping majority to AAP to bring a change and now Mann government is working dedicatedly for it.
