British Columbia: Mounties in B-C say there’s no evidence of widespread diversion of so-called safer supply drugs to the illicit market in the province or elsewhere in Canada.
Police say they seize drugs routinely in the thousands of yearly investigations they conduct, including prescription drugs including narcotics and opioids.
B-C Mounties say seizures that have been confirmed to contain drugs from safe supply are rare, despite recent cases where large quantities were taken by police.
The statement comes after B-C Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth refuted claims by Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and
opposition leader Pierre Poilievre that safe supply drugs from B-C were being widely diverted to the illicit drug market.
