New Delhi: Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the eighth time this afternoon. Bihar Governor Phagu Chauhan administered the oath of office to 71-year-old Kumar at a ceremony at the Raj Bhavan. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav also took oath. He becomes the deputy chief minister for the second time.


The Rashtriya Janata Dal, which is heading the grand alliance, had on Tuesday elected Kumar as its leader.
After the formation of the new government in Bihar, Nitish Kumar held his first cabinet meeting with Tejashwi Yadav after taking oath as chief minister.
In the new Government of Bihar, the special session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly to be held on August 24 and 25.
Meanwhile, the floor test of Nitish and Tejashwi’s government will be held in the House on August 24.
