Chandigarh: The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) is in action after a video of the brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, the mastermind of the Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala murder case, went viral on the social media last week.
The AGTF has arrested eight people, including singer Karan Aujla’s manager Sharpy Ghumman on Friday over nexus between singers, gangsters, travel agents. A case has been registered against all of them at Mohali police station.
On April 16, a video of Punjabi singers Karan Aujla and Sherry Mann singing at a wedding in the USA went viral. In this video, Lawrence’s brother Anmol was seen dancing on the stage with both Punjabi singers.
Surprisingly, the Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement in September 2022 that Anmol had been detained in Kenya, but after his video surfaced in April.
According to the information received, Sharpy has been arrested from Patiala. Apart from appearing alongside Karan Aujla, his name also comes in organizing kabaddi programs. At the moment, AGTF wants to interrogate him about Anmol.
Along with Lawrence, Anmol’s name also cropped in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case. He, however, went to abroad with a fake passport via Nepal, but surprisingly, neither the Punjab government nor the state government’s intelligence agencies took care of Anmol after the information about his detention in September 2022.
