The Leader of the BC Greens, Emily Lowan, Rob Botterell, and Jeremy Valeriote announced their intentions for the upcoming snap election.

“Life has gotten harder for British Columbians—rising costs, a healthcare system stretched too thin, and a growing climate and economic crisis,” said Lowan. “The BC NDP has had a majority government and every chance to address these issues, and they haven't delivered. People are tired of waiting for leadership from Premier Eby that never comes.

The BC Greens are ready to do the work to build a fair economy.  We’ll get mega-corporations and the ultra-wealthy finally pay their fair share. With that funding, we’ll ensure every British Columbian can afford a home, see a doctor when they need one, and build a good life here. That's what this election is about, and it's what we're here to deliver.”

This election, BC Greens are running on four commitments to British Columbians: A Life You Can Afford, Care You Can Count On, Economic Fairness for All, and a commitment to Fight for your Future.

Lowan also announced she would be running in Saanich North and the Islands, following Rob Botterell announcing he would not be seeking re-election.

“Serving the people of Saanich North and the Islands has been one of the greatest privileges of my life,” said Botterell. “I would not be stepping aside with such confidence if I didn’t know who was stepping up. Emily Lowan is someone this community can trust, and I will be working hard to help her win.”

“Having the chance to represent Saanich North and the Islands, the same neighbourhoods in which I grew up, is a profound honour,” said Lowan. “From a lack of access to healthcare, to the instability of a housing crisis, to underfunded ferry routes, to the threats of drought & climate disaster, the people of Saanich North and the Islands deserve someone who’s willing to fight tooth and nail for them. That’s exactly what I’ll do in the Legislature.”

Jeremy Valeriote announced that he would be seeking re-election in West Vancouver-Sea-to-Sky, where he won a historic victory in 2024, becoming the first BC Green to represent a riding on the mainland.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to continue representing the people of this incredible region,” said Valeriote. “I’ve spent the last two years standing up for the priorities of the people of West Vancouver-Sea-to-Sky that the government too often ignores, including regional transit, passenger rail, highway safety, and protected farmland. I’m deeply committed to continuing this work for another term.”

Emily Lowan concluded by stating: “Working with Jeremy and Rob has demonstrated just how much Greens can get done, even when there’s only two of us in the Legislature. With the balance of power, we’ll hold the government to account, and fight for a province without climate disaster, where you can afford to live, see a doctor, find a good union job, and build a life. That’s the province we all deserve—that’s the province on the ballot.”
