Investigators with the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) have arrested and charged two males in connection with a shooting that occurred in Brampton in October 2025.

On Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025, at approximately 10:40 p.m., police responded to call for a shooting in the area of Dawnridge Trail and Clifton Court. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, two individuals were arrested in August 2026 and charged in relation to the incident. Lavontae Bowleg, a 19-year-old male of Sudbury, and a male from Oshawa who was 17 years old at the time of the offence, are each charged with aggravated assault, attempted murder using firearm, carrying concealed weapon, conspiracy to commit murder, discharge firearm with Intent, knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of firearm, occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon, possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm, possession Property Obtained by Crime, unauthorized Possession of Firearm.

Both accused have been held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice.

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person, and, therefore, the identity of the Young Person charged in this investigation is protected.
