Travellers using Highway 1 through the Fraser Valley are advised to expect delays during the Abbotsford Airshow on the weekend.

The event, which runs from Friday, Aug. 7  to Sunday, Aug. 9 is expected to draw large crowds of spectators, increasing traffic around the Abbotsford International Airport and surrounding areas.

Traffic will be higher than normal on Friday evening and throughout Saturday and Sunday.

Travellers are advised to  expect additional congestion and delays, allow for extra travel time, ensure the vehicle has a full tank of fuel before leaving and carry plenty of drinking water, snacks and food. 

Travellers are asked to plan and drive safely to keep traffic moving.
