The Sicamous RCMP is updating the public that the body of a missing boater has been recovered.

 On July 14, the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team (URT), with support from the RCMP National Underwater Recovery Training Centre (NURTC), located and recovered the missing man from Mara Lake.

 “Thank you to the URT, NURTC, Search and Rescue volunteers, and all partner agencies for their efforts throughout this operation. While this is a tragic outcome, we hope the recovery of the missing man brings some closure to his family and friends. Our thoughts remain with them during this difficult time,” says Sgt. Murray McNeil, Sicamous RCMP Detachment Commander.
