Routine traffic stop results in seizure of firearm
Prince George RCMP continues to maintain its tough stance on unlawful weapons possession in the wake of recent gun related violence.
On June 24, a frontline police officer with Prince George RCMP was on routine patrol when he witnessed a man riding a bicycle without a helmet. During the course of the ensuing traffic stop and investigation, the police located a firearm. The police seized the firearm and arrested the man, who was identified by police as 39-year-old Kyle Teegee.
Teegee was criminally charged as a result of allegedly being found in possession of the firearm. Teegee will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
“Community safety is a top priority for Prince George RCMP. We remain focused on addressing unlawful weapons possession and other activities that pose a risk to the public. We will continue to use all available investigative tools and resources to enhance community safety and support the health and well-being of those who live, work, and visit Prince George,” says Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
As this matter is now before the court, Prince George RCMP will not be releasing any additional information or commenting further at this time.
