City Invites Residents to Submit Photos for the 2027 City Calendar

The City of Kamloops is inviting residents to help showcase the beauty, diversity, and spirit of our community by submitting their favourite local photos for a chance to be featured in the 2027 City Calendar and other City publications.

Whether you're an experienced photographer or you simply enjoy capturing special moments on your phone or camera, photographers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate. The City is searching for submissions that celebrate what makes Kamloops unique—from spectacular landscapes and neighbourhood parks to local events, recreation, wildlife, community connections, and everyday moments that reflect life in our city. The annual calendar is available free of charge and is used by thousands of households, serving as both a practical resource and a celebration of our community throughout the year.

"Every year, residents help tell the story of Kamloops through incredible photography," said Quinn Hatch, the City’s Communications Supervisor. "The calendar allows us to showcase our community through the eyes of the people who know it best. We encourage everyone to get outside this summer, explore the places they love, and share the moments that make Kamloops such a special place to live."

Photos chosen for the City Calendar, or as covers for the City's Activity Guides or Annual Report, will receive public recognition through the City's website and social media channels. Each photographer selected for these publications will also receive a one-month Family Pass to the Tournament Capital Centre.

By submitting photos, participants are helping to build a growing library of authentic Kamloops imagery that may be featured in future communications, marketing materials, publications, websites, and social media channels for the City. While not every submission will appear in the City Calendar, all photos will be retained for potential future use, allowing photographers to help showcase the community year-round. The City makes every effort to credit photographers whenever their work is used.

To be eligible, photos must Be taken by the person submitting them, be submitted in digital format (3 MB minimum, 20 MB maximum), showcase Kamloops' people, places, landscapes, landmarks, recreation, or community life, meet the terms and conditions outlined on the City's website

Submissions are accepted in any orientation; however, only landscape-oriented photos will be selected for the calendar.

The submission deadline is 4:30 pm on Tuesday, September 29.

The 2027 City Calendar will be available for pickup mid-December 2026 at various City facilities.
