UGET and Port Alberni RCMP Partnership Leads to Drug Trafficking Charges
A joint investigation by the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia’s (CFSEU-BC) Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (UGET) and Port Alberni RCMP’s General Investigation Section (GIS) has resulted in charges against a Port Alberni man.
On June 13, 2026, UGET officers were conducting proactive patrols in Port Alberni when they encountered a man in connection with an observed Motor Vehicle Act infraction. The man fled from police and was arrested following a foot pursuit.
Officers located suspected drugs that were consistent with drug trafficking and also seized cash and a weapon. The man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for purpose of trafficking and flight from a peace officer.
On October 29, Corey Lee Joseph Pouliot, a 38-year-old from Port Alberni
was charged with the following:
• 1 count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking fentanyl
• 1 count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking methamphetamine
• 1 count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking cocaine
Following UGET’s deployment, Port Alberni RCMP GIS continued investigating the man’s alleged drug-trafficking activities.
On the same day, Port Alberni RCMP arrested Pouliot. A search warrant was
executed on his residence, where a firearm and additional drugs were located. He is expected to appear in court at a later date.
“Strong partnerships allow the work we begin during a deployment to have a lasting impact,” says Sgt. Sarbjit K. Sangha, Media Relations Officer for CFSEU-BC.
“UGET officers and Port Alberni RCMP shared information and worked together to advance this investigation. That continuity is essential to disrupting drug trafficking and supporting safer communities.”
