FBI Indianapolis Investigative Work Helps Lead to Arrest in Germany
Investigative work by FBI Indianapolis, in partnership with the Fort Wayne Police Department, helped advance the case involving the death of a 14-year-old northern Indiana girl, contributing to the arrest of an 18-year-old man in Germany on suspicion of murder.
The FBI shared its findings with German authorities, whose efforts led to the suspect’s arrest. The FBI appreciates the close cooperation with its German law enforcement partners in pursuing justice for the victim and her family.
"Anyone who targets or exploits a child should understand this: There is no safe haven from justice. It doesn’t matter where you live or where you try to hide. The FBI will work with our partners around the world to find you and hold you accountable. When children are victimized, we will pursue every lead and use every available resource. Wherever you go, justice will find you," said FBI Indianapolis Special Agent in Charge Timothy J. O’Malley.
The FBI urges parents and caregivers to take online threats to children’s safety seriously and report suspected criminal activity. Information about potential federal crimes can be reported at tips.fbi.gov.
