Indian family recounts horrific experience at Tsawwassen
A family from Punjab recounted the horrific experience of an incident which had happened at Tsawwassen Mills Mall parking lot during the Truth and Reconciliation Walk , Wednesday resulted into the death of two seniors of First Nation.
Rajveer Singh Brar, who spoke in The Harjeet Gill Show at Sher-e-Punjab Radio Thursday, said that his cousin Manpreet Singh along with his family went to Tsawwassen mall for shopping as the family is leaving to India.
"My cousin Manpreet, his wife, mother and his 11-month old daughter went for shopping, they all had a miraculous escape as the driver of the vehicle who hit the seniors, first hit their vehicle in the parking lot," Brar claimed.
Stating further, Brar said that his cousin parked his car in the parking lot of the mall and his family was inside the vehicle while he came out and a pick- up truck also entered the parking lot.
"Manpreet was outside his car while his other family members were sitting inside and were waiting to come out, the driver of the pick-up suddenly started reversing his vehicle and hit the car, Manpreet had to save himself, while he was checking his family inside, the pick-up driver again hit their car, leaving the family into fear," Brar added,
According to Brar, his cousin Manpreet was traumatised and he called him and narrated the entire incident following which he went to the mall to bring the family home and the matter was reported to the police.
The driver later hit four pedestrians and two were killed. The victims were said to be from Tsawwassen First Nations.
