Langley RCMP arrests and charge for shooting in Langley

On August 24, at approximately 7:24 p.m., Langley RCMP responded to reports of a shooting in the 26900 block of 26A Avenue in Langley.

First responders from Langley RCMP, BC Emergency Health Services, and the Township of Langley Fire Department attended the scene and located one individual suffering from injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital and remains in serious but stable condition.

Investigators quickly learned that the suspect had fled the area in a vehicle that was subsequently observed driving erratically near 256 Street and 24 Avenue.

"This prompted a dynamic police response, and with the assistance of Lower Mainland District Integrated Police Dog Services, officers successfully disabled the suspect vehicle and took the individual into custody," said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP.

On August 25, 2026, Kyle Jensen, 40, was charged with Break and enter, Robbery with a firearm, Two counts of possession of a firearm without a licence, Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, Three counts of pointing a firearm, Occupying a vehicle knowing a firearm was present, Theft of a motor vehicle, Flight from police, Dangerous driving, Unlawfully causing bodily harm, Possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.

At this time, investigators believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no continuing risk to public safety. The investigation remains active, and the motive is still under investigation.  Jensen is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
