On August 22, 2026, around 4:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a stabbing in the 600 block Of Ellice Avenue. A passerby called 911, when the injured victim asked her for help.

Emergency personnel were already on scene providing medical care to the woman in her 30s who had been stabbed in the upper body. She was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

General Patrol members canvassed the area, and the Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.
