18-year-old shooting suspect wanted by Burnaby RCMP turns himself in
The suspect in a December 2025 shooting that left a victim hospitalized, Ronin Tajali, has turned himself into authorities.
On Friday, December 19, 2025, Burnaby RCMP received a report that someone was shot near Phillips Avenue and Woodbrook Place, in North Burnaby. When frontline officers arrived, they located a man with gunshot wounds. The man was transported to the hospital and received medical care.
Burnaby RCMP’s Investigative Support Team (IST) assumed conduct. On December 25, 2025, charges were laid and an arrest warrant was issued for the accused, then 18-year-old Ronin Tajali. He currently remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
A warrant has been issued for an 18-year-old Burnaby man after a shooting Friday evening that sent one man to the hospital being treated for gunshot injuries on December 26.
On December 19, 2025, just before 8:45 p.m., Burnaby RCMP received a report that someone had been shot in the area of Phillips Avenue and Woodbrook Place, in North Burnaby. When frontline officers arrived, they located a man with gunshot wounds. The man was transported to the hospital and received medical care. Police believed the shooting to be targeted.
Burnaby RCMP’s Investigative Support Team (IST) assumed conduct of the investigation. The investigation was supported with the assistance of General Duty, Forensic Identification Services, Prolific Offender Suppression Team, Strike Force, Drugs and Organized Crime Section and additional specialized plainclothes units.
BC Prosecution Service approved charges against 18-year-old Ronin Tajali.
