RCMP investigates shooting in Maple Ridge, one sustain injuries
Maple Ridge RCMP is investigating a shooting that occurred last night in Maple Ridge.
On August 18, at approximately 10:00pm, Maple Ridge RCMP frontline officers responded to reports of shots being fired in the 11400 block of 236 Street in Maple Ridge.
Officers on scene located a 56-year-old male victim inside a vehicle outside a residence suffering from an apparent gun shot wound. The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition.
Maple Ridge RCMP's Serious Crime Unit has taken conduct of the investigation, and the Integrated Forensic Identification Services (IFIS) is currently processing the scene. The investigation is still in its very early stages. Officers are continuing to gather evidence and determine exact circumstances, including taking statements and canvassing the area for video surveillance and potential witnesses.
