Punjabi origin truck driver charged for fatal road accident

A man has been charged one year after the tractor-trailer he was allegedly driving collided with a motorcyclist and killed its rider north of Quesnel.

On July 24, 2025, a Kenworth tractor-trailer collided with a Harley Davidson motorcycle on Highway #97 near Naver Creek Road. The collision killed a 42-year-old Chemainus man who was riding the Harley Davidson.

BC Highway Patrol investigated the crash and forwarded the results to the BC Prosecution Service. On July 21,  Amninder Singh Sran was charged with dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death, section 320.13(3) of the Criminal Code, impaired operation of a conveyance causing death, section 320.14(3) of the Criminal Code, operation of a conveyance with a blood alcohol content over 80 mg/mL causing death, section 320.14(3) of the Criminal Code. 

Sran has been served with a Summons to appear in Quesnel Provincial Court on August 18.
