Penticton airport back in service after police response to suspicious luggage

On the morning of July 15, 2026 the Penticton RCMP was called by security services to investigate a suspicious bag at the Penticton YYF airport.

The building was evacuated safely, resulting in a temporary closure of the airport while RCMP investigators and specialized teams assessed the danger.

The bag was inspected and determined to be safe.

Airport operations are now back in service. We encourage travellers to check the status of their flights for any changes caused by the temporary closure and evacuation of the airport.
