On June 28, at approximately 12:49 p.m., West Shore RCMP was notified by William Head Institution in Metchosin that one inmate was unaccounted for during the facility’s midday count. As a result, an arrest warrant has been issued for 69-year-old Ernest Jensen who is wanted for being unlawfully at large.

The suspect is  Caucasian Male, 69-years-old, 5’8” tall , Heavy Build, Bald, Brown eyes, has a scar on his forehead and is missing three fingers from his left hand 

West Shore RCMP immediately responded to the area and have initiated extensive patrols. You will see a heavy police presence in the area near William Head Institution as police officers continue their search outside the facility and William Head staff continue a comprehensive search inside their institution grounds. West Shore RCMP Police Dog Services has also attended the scene and RCMP Air Services has been called out as well to conduct air patrols. 

Ernest Jensen is wanted for being unlawfully at large, contrary to section 145(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
