Daylight fatal shooting in Surrey, IHIT launch investigation

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over conduct of a homicide investigation in Surrey.

At approximately 3:03 pm on May 4,  Surrey Police Service (SPS) Frontline officers responded to calls of a shooting at a business in the 13000 block 76 Ave, Surrey. Upon arrival, SPS officers located a man apparently suffering from gun shot wounds and provided medical assistance until BCEHS arrived. Despite life saving efforts, the man was pronounced deceased on scene.

No arrests have been made and at this early stage there is no suspect information to share.

IHIT has now taken over the investigation and is working in partnership with SPS to complete priority investigative tasks.

Anyone with information is asked to call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.

As IHIT is now the lead investigative agency, any inquiries should be directed to IHIT
