Two arrested for drug trafficking
The Cold Lake RCMP’s Gneral Investigation Section arrested multiple persons who were invilved in drug trafficking. Charges were laid against two accused.
The RCMP in a statement Tuesdau said that on April 23 the Cold Lake RCMP’s General Investigations Section executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of 8 street and 10 Avenue in Cold Lake in relation to an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.
Police arrested multiple people inside the residence and located a quantity of suspected cocaine, several firearms, and other items consistent in the illegal sale of controlled substances. Two suspects are facing charges in relation to this investigation.
A 43-year-old, a resident of Cold Lake, has been charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.
They have been brought before a Justice of the Peace and released with her next court date set for May 20, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake.
A 36-year-old resident of Cold Lake, has been charged with possession for the Purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a firearm contrary to a Prohibition Order, possession of a firearm while unauthorized; and careless storage of a firearm.
They have been brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody with their next court date set for April 28, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Bonnyville.
