Punjab Chief Minister accuses BJP of destabilization after AAP MPs defect
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of attempting to destabilize his party following the reported defection of several senior parliamentarians from the Aam Aadmi Party.
Speaking after reports that seven AAP Rajya Sabha MPs had left the party, Mann said the BJP had “betrayed the people of Punjab” and was trying to weaken the ruling party after failing to find other means of opposition.
He said he remained confident that the people of Punjab continue to support the Aam Aadmi Party and would stand firmly with the government.
Mann described the departing MPs as “traitors to Punjab,” while emphasizing that the party’s organizational structure remains intact.
He added that the departure of a handful of individuals would not impact the party’s stability, saying political organizations are larger than any single person.
The chief minister said the party remains united and fully functional despite the reported defections.
The claims could not be independently verified.
