Repeat offender back in Abbotsford police custody
Abbotsford police say a repeat offender is back in custody after allegedly committing another break-and-enter while under strict court-ordered conditions.
The Abbotsford Police Department says patrol officers first responded in November 2025 to a reported residential break-in in progress in the 32500 block of Peardonville Road. A 35-year-old man, Jaskaran Singh, was arrested and charged with break and enter in connection with that incident.
Police say Singh was released from custody in March 2026 and relocated to another Lower Mainland community under several court-imposed conditions, including 24-hour house arrest.
However, on April 7, officers were called to another residential break-and-enter, this time in the 32600 block of Bevan Avenue. Investigators quickly identified Singh as the suspect.
The department’s Crime Reduction Unit took over the case and later located Singh in Abbotsford, allegedly in breach of his release conditions. He was arrested on April 16.
Police say charges have now been approved for break and enter, possession of break-in instruments, and five counts of breaching a release order related to the April 7 incident and his subsequent arrest.
Singh remains in custody.
The Crime Reduction Unit continues to focus on repeat offenders, enforcing court conditions and targeting ongoing criminal activity, police said, adding that such efforts are key to reducing property crime and improving community safety.
