High-risk offender to reside in Surrey, police issue public warning

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) is warning the public that a designated high-risk offender with a history of violence will be living in the community.

Police say 42-year-old Nathanial Odorjan, described as a white male standing six-foot-one and weighing about 150 pounds with short, balding brown hair and brown eyes, is expected to reside in Surrey under strict court-ordered conditions.

Officers say Odorjan has a documented history of violent offences, including crimes involving females and underage girls.

As part of a public interest disclosure, police outlined several conditions imposed on Odorjan. He is prohibited from accessing the internet or social media, except under limited circumstances, and must not communicate with anyone under the age of 18 unless they are family members.

He is also banned from possessing or consuming alcohol, drugs, cannabis or non-prescribed medication, and must comply with electronic monitoring requirements, including wearing a tracking device.

Police say Odorjan is further prohibited from possessing weapons of any kind, including firearms, imitation weapons or explosive substances.

Additional restrictions bar him from entering certain businesses in British Columbia, including Safeway and Nesters Market locations, as well as a cannabis store on Kingsway in Vancouver.

He is also not allowed to have contact with anyone under 18, except incidental contact in public places where other adults are present, and cannot hold employment or volunteer roles that place him in a position of trust or authority over minors.

Police say the disclosure is intended to inform the public and support community safety, and they urge residents to report any suspicious activity or potential breaches of Odorjan’s conditions.
