Coquitlam police identifies driver involved in suspicious activities
Police in Coquitlam say they have identified and spoken with the driver involved in two reports of suspicious activity earlier this month and have determined no criminal offence took place.
The Coquitlam RCMP said officers received two complaints on April 12 involving an unknown man in a white Ford pickup truck who allegedly tried to speak with two youths in separate incidents.
Mounties say the reports prompted an investigation, and with assistance from the public, officers were able to identify and contact the driver.
Police say that after reviewing the circumstances, investigators concluded the incidents did not meet the threshold for criminal charges.
The detachment thanked residents for their vigilance and for providing information that helped advance the investigation.
Officers are reminding the public to continue reporting suspicious behaviour, noting that such reports play an important role in ensuring community safety.
