One person critically injured in Langley collision; major intersection closed
One person was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition following a serious motor vehicle collision in Langley Wednesday morning, police say.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police say officers responded shortly after 8:13 a.m. to a crash at the intersection of 264 Street and 24 Avenue in the Township of Langley.
Emergency crews from the British Columbia Ambulance Service, Township of Langley Fire Department and RCMP attended the scene.
Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP said one individual was transported to hospital in critical condition.
He said the Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service has been called in to assist with the investigation into the cause of the crash.
Police have closed the intersection while investigators continue their work, and say the shutdown is expected to last for several hours.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
