Service Disruption Limits West Coast Express Trains to Maple Meadows Station
A track issue has forced service changes along the West Coast Express line, preventing trains from travelling east of Maple Meadows Station until further notice.
Transit officials say the disruption came into effect at 6:30 p.m. on March 19 and will continue indefinitely while repairs are underway.
As a result, all westbound train service on Friday morning will begin at Maple Meadows Station, operating at regularly scheduled times. The adjusted departure schedule is as follows:
- Train W1: 5:50 a.m.
- Train W2: 6:20 a.m.
- Train W3: 6:50 a.m.
- Train W4: 7:20 a.m.
- Train W5: 7:50 a.m.
To accommodate affected commuters, additional bus service will be provided. Extra westbound buses will run from stations east of Maple Meadows, including Mission City and Port Haney, transporting passengers to Maple Meadows or directly to Coquitlam Central Station.
Passengers are also advised to use the SkyTrain network, particularly to reach Coquitlam Central Station, where they can connect to onward service.
Additional staff will be deployed at Waterfront Station and Coquitlam Central Station to assist customers and provide directions during the disruption.
Transit authorities have not yet provided an estimated timeline for when full service will resume.
