A shocking incident in Sector 9, considered one of the city’s safest areas, spread panic on Wednesday after a broad daylight attack near an eye hospital left a man dead.

The victim, Charanpreet Singh, a property dealer and resident of Mullanpur, was shot dead by unidentified assailants. According to initial reports, the attackers opened indiscriminate fire, killing him on the spot.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the victim arriving in a black car when a man wearing a red T-shirt and a helmet suddenly approached and launched the attack. Reports suggest that the assailants, who were on a motorcycle, fired around seven rounds before fleeing the scene.

Police officials and forensic teams rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the incident. The area was cordoned off, and an investigation was launched. Forensic experts collected crucial evidence from the scene, while authorities are scanning CCTV footage from nearby buildings to identify the attackers.
