Temporary road closures in Cambie Corridor starting next week

Cambie Street will be fully closed to vehicle traffic between West 41st Avenue and West 45th Avenue from Monday, March 16 to Wednesday, March 18, from 7:30 am to 8 pm (each day) to allow crews to safely dismantle a large construction crane.

This complex and time-sensitive work will be taking place at the Oakridge Park development site. The City of Vancouver has issued a permit for this work on City property, which requires the contractors to perform the work in accordance with all regulatory safety requirements.

Following the full closure, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on Cambie Street between West 41st Avenue and West 45th Avenue from Thursday March 19 to Saturday March 21 from 7:30 am to 8 pm each day. Roads will fully reopen to traffic when the crane is fully dismantled.

Access to all residences and businesses will be retained throughout this work; however, residents may experience temporary street and sidewalk impacts. VPD will be onsite directing traffic. Please follow all detours and abide by “No Parking” and “No Stopping” signs in the area.

If you have upcoming spring break travel or are travelling to the airport or ferry terminal during these closure periods, please plan an alternate route and allow extra travel time.
