Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Warns Against Hoarding Amid LPG Shortage Rumours
Bhagwant Mann on Thursday said strict action will be taken against those involved in hoarding gas cylinders, creating artificial shortages, or spreading rumours about a possible LPG crisis.
The Chief Minister stated that the Punjab government is closely monitoring the situation and will not allow anyone to create panic or exploit consumers under any circumstances.
Rumours about a possible shortage of LPG cylinders have been spreading rapidly across the country due to tensions in Gulf countries. These rumours have created unnecessary anxiety among the public.
Mann said that Deputy Commissioners have been directed to ensure that there is no shortage of essential commodities for the public. The government will take strict action against anyone found manipulating the supply of essential goods.
To prevent black marketing of LPG cylinders, officials have also been instructed to keep strict watch on market activities. The Chief Minister added that the issue has also been raised with the Central Government to ensure adequate supply of LPG cylinders.
Reiterating the government’s commitment, Mann said that the Punjab government will continue to safeguard the interests of its citizens and ensure uninterrupted supply of essential commodities.
