Charges laid against two in connection with bank robbery

Charges were laid against two suspects of bank robbery in Abbotsford Thursday.

On February 6th,  at approximately 5:23 p.m., Abbotsford Police Patrol Officers responded to a report of a bank robbery in the 2100 block of Sumas Way. A man entered the bank, demanded money, and fled in an awaiting truck after obtaining cash. No injuries were reported.

AbbyPD’s Major Crime Unit (MCU) immediately assumed conduct of the investigation. Over the following weeks, Detectives gathered additional evidence, which led them across the Lower Mainland and helped identify two suspects.
On March 10th, MCU Detectives arrested two men in connection with the robbery. A search warrant was also executed at a residence in the 44000 block of Malcolm Road in Lake Errock. Robbery charges have now been approved against 54-year-old Gordon Slater and 57- year-old Brian Knutson, with an additional Disguise with Intent charge approved against Mr. Slater.
Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the AbbyPD Major Crime Unit at 604-859-5225.
