Victoria Police Department (VicPD) officers responded to a disturbance at the intersection of Johnson Street and Broad Street on March 4,  at approximately 8:10 p.m. following a 911 call where only yelling and screaming could be heard. 

Preliminary investigative efforts on scene revealed an assault may have occurred, resulting in the arrest of one individual. A review of the area’s video surveillance confirms the incident occurred in a public space with multiple vehicles and bystanders present.  

“This was a serious incident that occurred in a public place. Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected in our community,” says VicPD Detective Constable Joel Durling.
