80 more new affordable rental homes to come in Richmond
Rio Vista in Richmond is open and will provide 80 new affordable rental homes to Richmond residents.
“This project shows what’s possible when partners work together to create safe, affordable housing that supports people’s well-being,” said Christine Boyle, Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs. “These homes will provide residents the stability they need to build their lives in Richmond, close to the services they rely on. It’s a strong example of how our Community Housing Fund is continuing to support people, so they can thrive in the community they call home.”
The six-storey building at 5491 No. 2 Rd. was delivered in partnership between the Province, through BC Housing, City of Richmond, and Pathways Clubhouse Society. Residents are expected to move into their new homes starting May 2026.
“Rio Vista represents the kind of partnership that strengthens our community and changes lives,” said Malcolm Brodie, mayor of Richmond. “By working together with Pathways Clubhouse and BC Housing, we are creating 80 new affordable homes that will provide stability, dignity and a true sense of belonging for individuals and families in Richmond. Safe, secure housing is foundational to mental health, well-being and opportunity, and we are proud to support a project that reflects our commitment to building a caring, inclusive city for everyone.”
