Charges approved after a stabbing at a high school basketball game

Charges have been approved against two youths in relation to a stabbing after a basketball game at Eric Hamber Secondary School on February 2. Officers from VPD’s Youth Investigative and School Liaison Units worked together to identify two suspects and make the arrests.

The B.C. Prosecution service has approved charges of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose against a 16-year-old, and one count of assault with a weapon against a 15-year-old.

Both youths have been released on court ordered conditions.
