Nancy Grewal murder: LaSalle police term it 'intentional' act

LaSalle police Thursday said that Punjabi Social Media influencer Nancy Grewal's murder is not a random act and it was 'intentional'.

Grewal was found with multiple stabbing injuries at her residence at Todd Lane on March 3 at around 9: 30 pm. Grewal was outspoken against the Khalistan movement and also made comments against some heads of deras in Punjab. Her last post on Ticktock was regarding her comments against Akal Takht Sahib's acting jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj.

LaSalle police's  Chief Pearce stated Thursday,"Investigators are confident this was not a random act of violence. Ms. Grewal’s murder is being investigated as an intentional act against her. All information is being considered. While we recognize the significant public interest in this case, we will not share information that will compromise the investigation, including leads, tips, and investigative avenues."

According to LaSalle police, shortly, before 9:30 p.m. on March 3,  emergency services responded to the 2400 block of Todd Lane for a report of a stabbing. A 45-year-old female was located with injuries. She was transported by Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her identity is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
