BJP to hold 'Badlaav Rally' on March 14 in Punjab
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Punjab unit will hold a “Badlaav Rally” in Moga on March 14, marking the party’s formal push toward the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to attend the event.
The rally is seen as a significant political move by the BJP to assess its strength in the state ahead of the elections. Through the event, the party aims to address farmers’ resentment and rebuild its support base in Punjab, particularly in the wake of opposition over the now-repealed farm laws.
The Punjab BJP has appointed constituency-wise in-charges to mobilize crowds, setting a target of around 100,000 attendees. The rally will also serve as a test for senior Congress leaders who recently joined the BJP, as the party gauges its organizational readiness and public response.
Sources indicate that Amit Shah may make a major announcement for Punjab during the rally. The Centre is expected to address concerns related to farmers, commission agents, and rice millers, either through policy announcements or fresh assurances.
The Moga rally is being viewed as the BJP’s attempt to reassert its political presence in Punjab and lay the groundwork for the upcoming Assembly polls.
