Richmond RCMP arrests for trafficking illicit drugs

A 61-year-old man was arrested for allegedly trafficking illicit drugs on Gabriola Island.

The drug trafficking investigation, which began in late 2024, was a joint effort between Gabriola RCMP Detachment and the Island District RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS). Through both over and covert investigation techniques, police gathered evidence leading to an arrest warrant for the suspect under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

On February 23, Gabriola RCMP Detachment executed the arrest warrant on 61-year-old, Paul Dick of Gabriola Island, for trafficking Methamphetamine within the community of Gabriola Island. Mr. Dick has since been charged with trafficking Methamphetamine. He was subsequently released and is set to appear in court on March 31.
