The union home ministry gave green signal to start trial against former Punjab Chief Secretary V K Janjua. With the sanction of prosecution, the former bureaucrat will face trial in the court.

Janjua was booked by Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) in 2007 in an alleged case corruption case. It took 17 years to get the prosecution sanction against Janjua who had retired from the service.
