A Gujrat based company bought the Rajpura Thermal Plant. Larsen and Turbo (L&T)- the company which is currently managing the plant, sold out the plant to Gujrat based Torrent Power Limited.

L&T decided to sell the plant around six years ago when the company wrote a letter to the government and showed the interest in selling the plant. The Gujrat based company had now bought the plant for Rs. 6889 crore.
