The Enforcement Directorate (ED) officer who sent the notice to former Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Captain Amrinder Singh, was transferred Friday. The notice sent by the ED stirred a political storm in Punjab which is due for elections next year.

The Congress's Punjab in-charge Bhupesh Bhagel even offered Captain to rejoin the party. Captain is a two-time Punjab CM and joined the BJP in 2022 after he was unceremoniously removed as the state's CM. 

The ED sent a notice to Captain and his son Raninder Singh in a case related to Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
