North Vancouver RCMP seizes drugs

North Vancouver RCMP front line officers have seized drugs and weapons during a recent traffic stop.

On February 6, 2026, at approximately 6:00 a.m., North Vancouver RCMP officers conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of West 2nd Street after locating a driver slumped over in the driver’s seat. As officers approached the vehicle, they observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. The driver and passenger were arrested for offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).

A search of the vehicle incidental to arrest resulted in the seizure of numerous weapons, significant quantities of illicit drugs, and a body armour carrier. Both individuals, who are from Kamloops and known to police, were released pending the outcome of the investigation.

The items seized include, 10 grams of psilocybin, 347 grams of methamphetamine, Replica firearm, Multiple knives and baton, Body armour carrier

“Illicit drugs and the violence associated with this type of activity are a direct threat to the safety of the citizens of North Vancouver,” said Corporal Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP. “We are committed to providing safe streets and communities for all through intelligence led policing. The production and trafficking of drugs is not a victimless crime. We see its devastating effects daily. The number of potential lives saved as a result of this seizure is immeasurable.”
