Court convicts three police personnel in fake passport scam

Moga District and Sessions Court Monday sentenced three police officials to three years of imprisonment in connection with 18-year-old fake passport scam. Those convicted include Gurdial Singh, Manjeet Singh and Jaswinder Singh.

The case was registered in 2008 after it was found that the convicts were involved in a passport scam. More than  200 passports were at an address in Duneke village in Moga district following which an inquiry was conducted by the state police. One passport was even made on the name of a dead person.
