Two suspects charged following a VPD investigation at a retail store
Two suspects have been charged following a Vancouver Police Department (VPD) investigation at a retail store in East Vancouver.
Vancouver Police responded at 8:38 a.m. on February 2 to a report of a robbery near Glen Drive and Terminal Avenue. A loss prevention officer was allegedly assaulted with bear-spray by two men who were attempting to escape on foot with unpaid merchandise.
An extensive area search was conducted by police with the assistance of a police-piloted drone and canine unit. Two suspects were located and arrested in the Strathcona neighbourhood near Maclean Park.
Damian Derby, 30, and Cordell Peters, 28, have each been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of theft under $5000.
