Miscreants made off with gold ornaments worth around Rs. 12 lakh in a wedding function in Pathankot in Punjab Thursday. Local police lunched a probe to trace the stolen gold and to arrest the thieves.

According to the information a wedding function was going on in a marriage palace in Gosainpur near Pathankot. Groom's mother was carrying a bag with gold ornaments and when she was dancing, someone took her away from a chair where the bag was placed. When she came back the bag was missing.  

Later, the family discovered the theft following which groom's father Kuldeep Chand lodged a police complaint at Sujanpur police station.
