US agrees to lower tariffs on India
US President Donald Trump agrees to lower the tariffs on India. The US ambassador to India announced on X about this latest move. He mentioned that the US agrees to lower the tariffs from 25 percent to 18 percent. Prime Minister Modi also mentioned on the X that he spoke to President Trump and said when two major economies and democracies work together, it not only benefits the local economy but also creates opportunities for growth.
Trump also claimed that PM Modi agreed to buy oil from the United States instead of Russia. Trump also mentioned that India will reduce the tariffs and non-tariffs against the United States.
Indian Prime Minister Modi spoke to President Trump last December, where both agreed to work together to make progress in shared interests.
